JAGUAR MEn

Who Are Jaguar Men?

In the Mayan creation story of the Pop Wuj, Jaguar Men (B’alameb’) were the fourfathers of humanity who guided people in times of challenge towards a better world. They cared for the sacred fire during the night while waiting for the sun to dawn upon the new world. These men had a special relationship with the mother earth and the divine feminine.

Why Make A Circle of Jaguar Men?

Right now men crave ways to return to right relationship with women, the earth and with one another. We need leaders and new types of male leadership. Our species and our planet is in a time of great transformation. Women are in a deep process of healing and growth but there are very few models of how masculinity can evolve in sacred relationship to the divine feminine. This program is distinct from other programs that work with male identified people because we will work with men in relationship to women. We will cover issues like sexuality, communication, right relationship to the earth, rebuilding ancestral connections and preparing our planet for the generations to come.

What Will the Group Do?

Together the group will work to discover and cultivate the divine masculine within themselves and become leaders of that energy in their families and communities. We will work with somatics, mindfulness and ritual to invoke and activate the spirit of the divine masculine.  This process is especially important as most cultures no longer have initiation rituals for these sacred energies.

Participants will re-initiate themselves within the field of the divine masculine, reclaim their power and redefine this role for a new era.  By the end of the program the participants will have a clear understanding of how they want to embody the masculine, a map of mentors and elders that guide them in this vision and a community of like-minded men supporting them in their journey.

The process is designed to be co-creative and emergent.  The curriculum includes fundamentals in somatics, compassionate relating, body awareness, communication of erotic needs and desires and ancestral (especially Toltec and Celtic) traditions in male initiation. The group will also explore questions that are meaningful to individual participants and seek their own answers on these themes.  Participants will have the opportunity to share their learnings with the group and their communities.
